10 Quick Tips. How To Get Out Of Depression.

Everyone gets down and depressed now and again. I know I do sometimes. I am not immune to it. Maybe it’s because we feel bad because things are going the way we expected them to or we haven’t accomplished something that we set out to do. When we feel down we tend to not want to do anything. We want to curl up in a ball put on some pajamas and watch TV all day or just mope around feeling sorry for ourselves. I’ve been there. It sucks.

I know there are many reasons why we feel depressed and down. I can’t really touch base on all of them, but I do know for sure that I can tell you what has helped lift myself back up. Here are several ways I use to get out of my downers that can hopefully help you too.

We all perceive things differently. We have different thoughts about the things that happen in our daily lives. I used to perceive everything half empty. The world was a sad place and I chose to accept my perceptions of the world. For example, when I was in line at a grocery store and someone was paying with change, I only thought that this person was doing it just to piss me off. I rolled my eyes and tap my feet to show that “hey, buddy! get a move on it! I got shit to do.” Needless to say I don’t do that anymore. My perception has change. Being Grateful. A Key To Happiness.

It seems that quite a majority of people spend their entire lives searching for happiness and never finding it. We tend to forget little intricacies and the little things that actually make us happy. I have a firm belief that our purpose in this world is to find happiness and our mission is the pursue it. Some people seem to think that happiness is found in outside material things such as furniture, clothing, jewelry, cars and the like. In reality these things do often bring us happiness in the short term, but what  it brings in the long run  is us wanting more. The accumulation of things and material wealth does not make us happy in the long run. These things are momentary pleasures that will fill our lives with more want. How can we find happiness without any of these things? How do we begin to understand what it really means to be happy? What do we need to do to be happy? There aren’t any simple answers to these questions, and there is not an answer that fits all. Everyone has their own experiences and their own perception of what happiness is. Conquer Fear.

Fear is an emotion that we carry throughout our lives. We all have our fears when we were growing up. Where these fears came from is a question that I want to examine. Did we always have fear? Or did we learn it from somewhere? Why do we fear things that we haven’t experienced yet? Why do we look at a bad experience and think that it will always be like that? Too often we fear the wrong things, too often we take one PAST experience and get inundated by those past experiences instead of focusing what is happening to us in the present time.
